Die Apple Macintosh rekenaar is vandag 25 jaar oud. Apple is in ‘n garage begin deur Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak en Ronald Wayne in 1976. In 1977 verkoop Wayne sy aandeel in die besigheid vir $800 aan Jobs en Wozniak. Die maatskappy is vandag sowat $80 miljard werd (na die ineenstorting van die finansiële markte).

In 1981 kom Bud Tripple met die term “reality distortion field” vorendag om Steve Jobs se charisma te beskryf. Met Jobs aan die stuur het Apple nog altyd daarin geslaag om die media om sy pinkie te draai. Nie net omdat hulle goeie bemarkers is nie, maar ook omdat Apple ideale verteenwoordig en artikuleer wat mense inspireer. Apple was nog altyd getrou hieraan; in Steve Jobs se eie woorde:
